Finding the answers in life isn’t hard. Answers are easy. The hard part is waking up and remembering to ask the questions. We must hunt for the questions because it is the questions that are hidden. They are hidden in plain sight. We call these hidden questions “Baby Seagulls” because like the missing element of those endless flocks of large, clamoring, white birds on the beach, we fail to notice as we watch them that we've not seen a single baby seagull among them. Only the adults. Where are the baby seagulls, while the grownups flock together? Getting the answer to the question is easy. Waking up and seeing that there is a question at all is the hard part. More significant than not-noticing the question is our unawareness that there is a question at all. We have gone to sleep and been buried by the world. The mysteries fall away. The questions fade like morning fog on the beach before our very noses. The days blend into one another burying the secrets. But sometimes, when we are with the right people at the right place and the right time we catch a fleeting glimpse, obliquely, from the corner of our eye of one of these questions. If we are brave enough to ask it, the answer is always close at hand. Hunt for the questions, not the answers.
